About Our Founder

Roy Langley is the President and Founder of Pelagic Search. Having spent the entirety of his career in client services, Roy has built a reputation for delivering high-impact results and cultivating enduring, personalized relationships with both clients and candidates — a philosophy that serves as the foundation of Pelagic Search.

Before founding Pelagic Search, Roy spent six years in the retained executive search industry with PierceGray, both executing and leading nearly 100 searches across 28 mega-cap and middle-market private equity sponsors. His functional focus spanned operations and commercial leadership roles, consistently helping organizations identify leaders capable of driving strategic growth and operational excellence.

Prior to his work in executive search, Roy spent over five years in strategy consulting at Kaiser Associates, advising clients on go-to-market strategy, commercial due diligence, benchmarking, change management, and operational performance improvement. This experience provided him with a deep understanding of the strategic and tactical levers that drive organizational success, informing his approach to talent acquisition at the highest levels.

A native of Charlotte, North Carolina, Roy attended Middlebury College where he played four seasons of NCAA Division III football and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. Today he resides in Connecticut with his wife and two sons.
